STOP PRESS....LEARN TO SING LESSONS FOR MEN......AND THEY ARE FREE!!......READ ON...The Telfordaires are running a free Learn-To-Sing course from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm for six weeks starting 11th August 2010 Sponsored by the Telfordaires and supported by a national music educational charity, this course is for men and is designed to encourage more men to take up singing. It is aimed at both newcomers to singing and to those who have not sung for a while. Why not come along, bring a friend or realtive - it’s free! The Telfordaires have booked the new Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury on Saturday 18th September 2010, when they will host "Autumn Gold". Come and hear barbershop harmony at its finest, in an evening featuring several of the country’s top barbershop choruses and quartets, singing music both old and new. An event for all the family. The show will feature 2009’s Gold Medal Chorus, and BBC Radio 3 Adult Choir of the Year 2008, the Cotton Town Chorus from Bolton. From Leeds, this year’s Gold Medal Ladies Chorus, and European Champion Chorus, the White Rosettes. Plus fresh from winning gold in Harrogate in May 2010, Steel, the UK’s Gold Medal Quartet Also on the bill is with a quartet with an established reputation for fun, as well as great singing, Soundcrew, and of course Shropshire’s own barbershop chorus, the Telfordaires, currently ranked No.5 in the UK. After some members became interested in the Barbershop Harmony Sound, they joined the British Association of Barbershop Singers, (BABS), and are now well known throughout the region for their dynamic performances, singing four part harmony in the barbershop style straight from the heart.
