Here's something to look forward to later this year. The Telfordaires have booked the new Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury on Saturday 18th September 2010, when they will host "Autumn Gold".
Combining passion, humour and wonderful harmony, barbershop singing is gaining a strong following in Britain. Come and hear barbershop harmony at its finest, in an evening featuring several of the country’s top barbershop choruses and quartets, singing music both old and new. An event for all the family.
The show features:
- 2009's Gold Medal Chorus, and BBC Radio 3 Adult Choir of the Year 2008, the Cotton Town Chorus from Bolton.
- Current Gold Medal Ladies Chorus, and European Champion Chorus, the White Rosettes from Leeds.
- Current UK Gold Medal Quartet, Steel.
- A quartet with an established reputation for fun, as well as great singing, Soundcrew.
- And of course your hosts and Shropshire’s own Barbershop Chorus, the Telfordaires, currently ranked No.5 in the UK.

The Telfordaires are running a free Learn-To-Sing course from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm for six weeks starting 11th August 2010
Sponsored by the Telfordaires and supported by a national music educational charity, this course is for men and is designed to encourage more men to take up singing. It is aimed at both newcomers to singing and to those who have not sung for a while.

The Telfordaires appeared again this year at Llangollen Eisteddfod performing in the Barbershop Section which took place on the afternoon of Saturday 10th July 2010.
They sang "Wait Till You Get 'Em Up In The Air Boys", A Parody of "Who'll Take My Place" and "Love Of My Life" written by Freddie Mercury and arranged in the Barbershop Style by our very own MD, Dale Kynaston.
Up against stiff competition from the UK, Iceland and Canada, The Telfordaires achieved a creditable fourth place with a score of 80%.
Just back from the British Association of Barbershop Singers Convention held at Harrogate Convention Centre, The Telfordaires are proud to have broken into the top five.
The package had an aeronautical theme and the songs performed were Air Boys and a parody of Who'll Take My Place. It went down very well to a packed auditorium and the Judges were obviously also impressed, awarding us over 70% for the performance.
This resulted in us moving up to fifth place out of the thirty seven Choruses that competed from across the UK.
The Chorus is over the moon and would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support. Further details and images will follow soon.
They performed at two exciting musical events with the fantastic musical group; THEATERKOOR ROOI who performed their very popular show AFRI-KAAS.
The first concert was held on the evening of Saturday the 21st November at the prestigious venue known as 't Hazzo in Waalre near Eindhoven where they were also joined on stage by the Kids Corner Big Band. The second event, held on the afternoon of Sunday the 22nd November, took place at another superb theatre called Perron-3 in Rosmalen near Den Bosch.
